Luray, located on K-18 highway sits between Paradise and The Garden of Eden. Explore the VanScoyoc log cabin; the first log cabin built in Russell County.  VanScoyoc was the first county coroner and one of the earliest county commissioners.

Luray was the hometown of Albion Britt (1898-1955), the first NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion Wrestler. He started training at age 10 with his father A. A. Britt, also a wrestler. Albion was first introduced in the championship matches as the Masked Wonder; but tossed the mask aside after winning two matches revealing his identity. He was rated the best leverage big man in the country.

Take notice of the colorful Barn Quilt Art here and throughout the county.

For more than a half-century the Annual Fish Fry held in March and the Annual Friendship Day in September have been community events.
